Full Sail and The Daily Buzz "Man-Up" For Breast Cancer

Winter Park (PRWEB) October 31, 2007 -- On Monday, October 29th, Full Sail Real World Education (www.fullsail.com), along with the nationally syndicated morning talk show, The Daily Buzz (www.dailybuzz.tv), joined together to "Man-Up for Breast Cancer!"

Airing live from Full Sail's campus, nearly 100 men comprised of Full Sail staff and students appeared for an on-air segment with The Daily Buzz to support the incredible women in their lives, as well as across the world, who are affected by this disease. All men were asked to wear the official pink "Man-Up" T-shirt in honor of the initiative and Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths among American women. The National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM) is dedicated to increasing awareness about the importance of the early detection, supporting those who are affected by breast cancer, and remembering those who have suffered. NBCAM started as a weeklong campaign in 1985 and today is celebrated by millions nationwide.

"This was the first year for the "Man-Up" initiative and it was originated as a way to engage the male population, and put a different perspective on the national awareness efforts," said Sandra Gehring, V.P./General Manager of The Daily Buzz.

Garry Jones, President of Full Sail said, "It is so important for our male staff, students and faculty to be aware and to get involved. We are very fortunate to partner with The Daily Buzz and have the opportunity to 'Man-Up' and support our wives, sisters, daughters and friends, alongside the many other women affected by this illness. We hope even our small part can make a difference and bring added attention to this very special cause."
